School Room

Yearbooks and photograph albums line the shelves of the school room. Most yearbooks of Appalachia, Big Stone Gap, East Stone Gap, and Powell Valley are available. Other schools are represented and donations are being accepted.

Reference Room

The Reference Room contains George Dalton's photograph collection, cemetery records, church records, albums of local celebrities, books and other items related to genealogy.

Music Room

Photographs, uniforms, instruments and albums pay tribute to local music teachers and entertainers from the area.

James M. Fraley Parlor

This room is located to the right of the entrance and is home to the Celebration Tree. This tree serves as a means to support the center and was donated by Jack and Patricia Howard in honor of our teachers. The room was named for Maurice Fraley who was one of our major supporters. A painting of Powell Valley donated by the Gembach family hangs over the restored fireplace. Photographs of area schools are on the walls.
